A good church is an important part of our spiritual lives. Finding a new church or a church to visit can sometimes be a frustrating experience. Tampa Florida Churches hopes to make the process a little easier for you. We have compiled some questions to help you through the journey of finding a church.
1. Are you looking for a denominational church or a non-denominational church?
Some people enjoy attending a church that is similar to what they have known in the past. Others are sometimes looking for a new experience. Both types of churches have a lot to offer.
2. What are your closely held beliefs?
This is a very important question to have answered when you are a considering a new church. The church should be able to provide you with a Statement of Faith when you ask or refer you to the information on their website.
3. Are you looking for a liturgical service, a contemporary service, or some mix of both?
The setting you like to worship in is also very important. For some a traditional service is what is needed, others enjoy a more casual approach.
4. Would you rather attend a larger or smaller church?
Different sized churches appeal to different people. Some people like to be where there are a lot of people and they can blend in. Others prefer to be in a more intimate setting.
5. Does the church have ministries and activities that are important to you?
Are there ministries and programs available at the church that fit with what your needs are. Are there groups that you can fit into and are their opportunities to serve? The church should be able to provide you with a schedule of activities.
Before you visit the church you may want to contact them by phone or by email. Many churches also have websites where you can find answers to your questions. Remember as you are looking for a church that there are no perfect churches. You need to look for a church that offers you the opportunity to connect worth and worship God and where people’s lives are being changed. If you find these things you have probably found a good church.
